Job summary

Danvers Public Schools is seeking Crossing Guards for the upcoming school year. The role is part-time (approximately 10 hours/week) and employed by the district, with morning and afternoon shifts at school crossings.

Training and CORI checks are required. Applicants must be able to walk and stand for extended periods and must comply with safety protocols, including weather considerations and early-dismissal scheduling.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license, CORI check and fingerprinting required.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Safety of child pedestrians at school crossings.
• Report to corners 10 minutes before AM/PM shifts and stand at assigned corner regardless of weather.
• Do not offer transportation to students.
• Be aware of Danvers Public School calendars for early dismissals.
• Smoking and cell phone use prohibited during shifts.
• Walk/stand for up to an hour in various weather conditions.
