Job summary

Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District is seeking a Crossing Guard to assist morning and afternoon crossings at local schools. The position requires vigilance, clear communication with students and families, and adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to convey information effectively and clearly.
• Strong problem-solving with sensitivity toward children.
• Knowledge of public safety policies; training available.
• Willingness to undergo CORI, SORI, and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Greet students and families at crosswalk.
• Stop traffic and assist students crossing.
• Provide safe access to and from school.
• Escort pedestrians and coordinate with bus drivers.
• Monitor traffic flow for safe gaps.
• Build good relationships with students, staff, parents.
