Henry County seeks a Traffic Assistant to ensure safe crossings for children at school zones. The role is part-time during the school calendar, requiring a high school diploma and a valid Georgia driver's license. Candidates must demonstrate courteous interaction with the public and hold basic traffic direction skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Requires the ability the exert moderate, though not constant, physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and prolonged standing. Requires mental acuity including the ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, the ability to express ideas by means of the spoken word and have close visual acuity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and may require standing for extended periods of time. Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes, traffic hazards, bright/dim lights, or rude/irate customers.
