Academies of Math and Science in Phoenix is seeking a K-8 School Counselor to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral well-being within a rigorous academic program.

You will partner with campus leadership, teachers, and families to implement a comprehensive counseling program that promotes scholar success and a positive school culture. The role requires a range of counseling duties and a strong commitment to confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• Evidenced counseling skills with students (social, emotional, behavioral).
• Ability to provide individual and group counseling aligned to PBIS.
• Knowledge of state requirements for school counselors.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling focused on social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.
• Ensure 100% of identified at-risk scholars have a trusted adult on campus with check-ins.
• Set goals with scholars and teach coping, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills.
• Identify scholars in crisis and follow safety protocols, including notifying campus leadership.
• Maintain confidential records in compliance with guidelines.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and community agencies.
• Support transitions to high school and identify post-secondary interests.
