Job summary

Miriam Learning Center is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Professional Counselor (or provisionally licensed) to support students ages 2 to 18 in St. Louis County. The role involves daytime, school-year hours, on-site work, and a pay rate of $48/hour.

The position requires licensure in Missouri, a master's degree, and experience with CBT and trauma-informed practices. The counselor will provide individual, group, and family therapy across school, on-site, and community settings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree is required and licensure in Missouri (LCSW, LMSW, LPC, PLPC) or provisionally licensed with supervisor.
• Knowledge of CBT and trauma-informed approaches is required.
• Experience assessing psycho-social needs of children/adolescents (ages 2-18) and delivering treatment services, preferably in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments for each child.
• Make appropriate recommendations based on assessment results.
• Complete assessment reports professionally and promptly.
• Determine appropriate treatment pathways for child/family.
• Maintain contact with Center staff, schools, and families for coordinated care.
• Submit notes and billing promptly.
• Refer families to community services as needed.
• Provide CBT-based individual, group and/or family counseling.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Master's degree from accredited school
• Licensed or provisionally licensed (with your own supervisor) in the state of Missouri (LCSW, LMSW, LPC, PLPC)
• One year experience assessing the psychological and educational needs of children and adolescents ages 2-18 and delivering treatment services, preferably in a school setting
• Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Trauma informed

REPORTS TO: Counseling Supervisor, Miriam Learning Center
POSITION SUMMARY: The Licensed Clinical Social Worker/ Counselor evaluates the psycho-social needs of early childhood aged children and adolescents and makes appropriate recommendations to improve functioning at school and in the community. He/she provides individual, group and/or family counseling. Settings for work duties include on-site at the Learning Center, community schools and day care centers. Daytime flexible hours are needed during the school year.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To provide a comprehensive and professional assessment of each child's psycho-social issues.
2. To make appropriate recommendations based upon assessment results.
3. To complete assessment reports in a professional and timely manner.
4. To determine an appropriate treatment pathway for a child/family.
5. To maintain contact with other professionals at the Center, in the school, and with the family to ensure coordinated treatment efforts.
6. To submit notes and billing in a timely manner.
7. To refer the child and/or family for community services as needed.
8. To provide individual, group and/or family counseling using a CBT model.
9. Any other duties as specified by the supervisor.
