Position: Food Service/Cook

Job Responsibilities

1. Assists with food preparation, such as washing fruits and vegetables, preparing soups, salads, and main dishes, mixing salad dressings, placing food in oven, setting proper temperature, removing food from oven, and other related duties.
2. Assists with preparation of serving line, including placing napkins, plates, silverware, and condiments; serves controlled portions to students, staff, and visitors.
3. Collects and disposes of garbage; cleans serving line equipment; cleans refrigerators, stoves, ovens, and counters; washes dishes, pots, pans, and other utensils; inspects dishes and silverware for cleanliness.
4. Replenishes snack bar items and shelves; receives and stores merchandise.
5. May substitute for the head cook in their absence.

Credentials

Combination of training and work experience demonstrating the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities. Minimum of one year experience in a commercial kitchen, knowledge of Child Nutrition, and food safety knowledge with ServSafe Manager Level/ODH Manager Certification preferred. High School Diploma or GED required. Alternatives deemed appropriate by the Superintendent may be considered.

Performance Responsibilities

Responsibilities include assisting with food prep, serving, cleaning, replenishing supplies, and substituting for the head cook as needed.

Salary Range

Starting at $21.62/hour (no experience) up to $23.24/hour (with verifiable experience).

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 1:00pm, approximately 180 work days, plus 8 paid holidays.
