Under general supervision, the clerk will perform a wide range of clerical tasks, manage student and attendance records, use SASI and word processing software, and apply basic math concepts and accurate English usage in all communications.

Positions in this class are responsible for a wide variety of clerical functions in a secondary school office. Incumbents must be able tohandle all but the most complex matters. Following initial instruction and within the scope of the assignment, employees in this class areexpected to exercise judgment and discretion in the handling of problems that arise. In small secondary schools, incumbents in this classification may maintain student and attendance records.
Personal computers and related software, i.e. SASI and word processing; modern office methods, practices, and telephone techniques; correct English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; basic mathematical concepts.
