Job summary

Chartwells K12 in Farmington, CT is hiring full-time and part-time Food Service Workers to prepare, present and serve meals in a school setting.

Shift is typically 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with online applications accepted. A ServSafe certification is required to ensure food safety and quality.

Duties include washing and preparing produce, weighing ingredients, stocking and cleaning, serving customers, and following safety, portion control and inventory procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, presents and serves food as needed.
• Washes, peels, cuts and seeds fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays to/from stations, stove and refrigerator.
• Stores food with wrapping, dating and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Uses approved recipes and production standards for quality and portions.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with service standards, inventory and cash control procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
