Job summary

CY Middle School in Casper, Wyoming seeks an Assistant Cafeteria Manager to assist the Building Food Services Manager in supervising daily lunch operations, planning menus, and ensuring nutritional requirements are met.

The role includes supervising staff, managing supplies, reporting, and maintaining health and safety standards; starting August 2026, 7.5 hours per day across 175 days in the school year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in food service supervision preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops menu plans for the purpose of meeting students' mandated daily nutritional requirements.
• Directs assigned personnel for the purpose of maximizing efficiency and meeting shift requirements.
• Estimates food preparation amounts for the purpose of meeting projected meal requirements and minimizing waste.
• Maintains confidentiality on personnel and student issues for the purpose of protecting information.
• Maintains food service equipment for the purpose of ensuring proper operation and compliance.
• Monitors kitchen and cafeteria areas for the purpose of ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
• Participates in meetings for the purpose of information exchange and professional development.
• Performs duties of Cafeteria Manager in absence for continuity of operations.
• Prepares written materials for documenting activities and conveying information.
• Procures equipment and supplies to maintain adequate inventory within budget guidelines.
• Provides functionality of other positions to ensure coverage of operations.
• Reconciles transactions for documentation of balanced accounts.
• Responds to inquiries of students, staff and the public for information and issue resolution.
