Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience operating equipment found in a commercial kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Arranges food and beverages and sets up equipment for serving.
• Attends unit meetings, in-service trainings, workshops for information gathering.
• Cleans utensils, equipment, and serving areas to maintain sanitary conditions.
• Evaluates prepared food items for quantity, quality and specifications to meet standards.
• Inspects food items and supplies for health standards and quality.
• Inventories food, condiments and supplies to ensure availability for menu needs.
• Maintains equipment, storage and serving areas in sanitary condition per health standards.
• Monitors kitchen and cafeteria to ensure a safe, sanitary work environment; supports other nutrition staff as needed.
• Prepares food and beverages to meet nutritional and meal requirements.
• Serves food items to meet nutritional needs and requests.
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication.
