Job summary

TrulyHired at Timken Elementary is seeking a dedicated Child Nutrition Assistant to support meals, serve students and staff, and help maintain a clean, safe cafeteria environment.

Work is 3.5 hours per day over 191 days per year, at $17.50 per hour. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, physical stamina, basic math, ability to lift up to 30 pounds, and the ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Basic math aptitude.
• Good physical stamina, intermittent standing, walking and lifting.
• Pass FBI/BCI background check.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellent customer service with a positive attitude when dealing with students, staff and community patrons; handle complaints promptly and suggest healthy options.
• Prepare and assist with meal preparation; cross-train in all meal prep areas as assigned by kitchen manager.
• Set up and maintain serving line; monitor food quality and temperature during service time.
• Work additional scheduled times as needed to keep kitchen operations running smoothly.
• Operate cash register at Point of Service and cash out with minimal errors.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen preparation and service areas and equipment, adhering to safety standards.
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines from Canton City Health Department and Ohio Department of Health.
• Follow National School Lunch and Breakfast guidelines and complete required training.
• Complete daily paperwork as required by Canton City Schools offices and health departments.
• Supervise students in cafeteria and playground; enforce rules and participate in discipline processes as needed.
• Maintain professional conduct and support a positive working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
