Job summary

Clarendon Elementary within Canton City School District is seeking a Child Nutrition Assistant to support daily meals. This part-time position offers 4 hours per day for 191 days per year, with an hourly rate of $17.50.

Responsibilities include serving meals, assisting kitchen staff, maintaining cleanliness, handling cash at point of service, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Requires HS diploma and background check; experience in food service is desirable.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Basic math aptitude.
• Good physical stamina with intermittent standing, walking and lifting.
• Pass FBI/BCI background check.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellent customer service with a positive attitude when dealing with students, staff and patrons.
• Prepare and assist with meal preparation; cross-trained in all meal areas.
• Set up and maintain the serving line and monitor food quality during service.
• Able to work other scheduled times during employee absences to run kitchen operations.
• Operate cash register at Point of Service and cash out with minimal errors.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas and equipment, following safety standards.
• Follow all food safety standards and training requirements.
• Complete daily paperwork required by Canton City Schools and health departments.
• Monitor students and enforce rules in cafeteria and playground.
• Maintain professional and cooperative environment and act as a team member.
