Job summary

Xavier Catholic Schools in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Fruits and Vegetables Attendant to join the Food Service Team at Xavier High School. This is a part-time position within the school cafeteria.

Responsibilities include opening/serving fruits and vegetables, assisting with lunch service, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the team as needed. A High School diploma or GED is required, with food service experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Education or GED required.
• Prior food service or related field experience preferred
• Enthusiastic supporter of the Catholic faith and schools
• Flexible, adaptive, and cooperative

Responsibilities

• Follow all health department guidelines and regulations.
• Open canned fruit and put into serving pans.
• Open and prepare canned vegetables.
• Wash and prepare fresh fruits and vegetables for serving; and replenish fruits and vegetables, as needed.
• Serve lunch to students.
• Monitor lunch line.
• Backup cashier, when needed.
• Spray and wipe tables in the Commons after lunch.
• Assist co-workers in other areas, as needed.
• Take required classes and training.
• Take out garbage and recyclables.
• Sweep and mop floors; perform heavy duty cleaning, as needed.
• Help unload weekly truck.
• Prepare grocery order on Thursdays.
• Other duties as assigned
