Job summary

Runge ISD is seeking a Food Service Assistant to join the school cafeteria team in Runge, Texas. You will support daily food preparation, serving, and basic kitchen duties under the supervision of the Food Service Manager.

Must have a Food Handlers Certification and the ability to read and communicate in English; physical ability to lift and stand for long periods is required. Work environment is school-based in Runge ISD; training provided, with opportunities to grow within the food service

Qualifications

• Food Handlers Certification is required.
• Ability to read and communicate in English.
• Ability to count, weigh, and measure.
• Follow instructions and take initiative in tasks.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, stoop, twist, and squat.

Responsibilities

• Interact with staff, students, and visitors in a professional manner.
• Portion foods per recipe or instructions.
• Assist with food preparation using basic techniques.
• Wash pots, pans, and dishes.
• Set up serving line with utensils and menu items.
• Monitor temperatures and report unsafe temps to supervisor.
