Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools is seeking a Food Service Worker at Proviso West High School to prepare and serve meals, maintain safety and sanitation standards, and assist in inventory and cashier duties. The role supports daily meal production for students and staff in a school environment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (or GED), be able to read and follow instructions, and possess a valid driver's license, with prior food service or cooking experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience in food service.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment, quantity food production, computers and calculators.
• Minimum of 1 year cooking experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals daily using standardized and/or in-house recipes.
• Serve meals daily, knowing reimbursable meal patterns.
• Put up grocery arrivals into proper storage areas on delivery days.
• Demonstrate knowledge and follow proper care and use of equipment.
• Maintain sanitary working conditions to prevent contamination.
• Meet all scheduled mealtimes and portion and serve food per policies.
