Job summary

Chartwells K-12 in Bedford, IN is hiring immediately for full-time and part-time Food Service Worker positions at North Lawrence Community Schools. The schedule runs 6:30 am to 3:00 pm with days varying; online applications accepted only.

You will prep, serve and portion food, maintain sanitation, and assist with customer service. Prior kitchen/K-12 experience is preferred but not required; benefits, training, and growth opportunities provided; pay is $14.25 per hour, with referral bonus.

Qualifications

• Prior commercial kitchen and/or K12 experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures.
• Customer-friendly with a focus on quality and service.

Responsibilities

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality and serving temperatures.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following steps of service.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
