Job summary

Oak Ridge School District is seeking a Food Service Worker to join the district’s cafeteria team in Oak Ridge, TN. This role runs Monday–Friday, day shift, with no nights or weekends, and includes paid training.

Responsibilities include cooking per recipes, serving meals to students and staff, and maintaining sanitary conditions. Ability to stand long periods and lift up to 40 pounds is required. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High School/Trade School degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Must be able to stand for long periods.
• Be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Basic cooking and cleaning skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes and manager instructions.
• Keep a clean and safe work area, including equipment, utensils, pots and pans.
• Maintain clean and well-stocked serving areas (serving line, salad bars, milk boxes).
• Serve meals to students, staff and parents.
• Assist fellow workers as needed to ensure smooth operation.
• Rotate stock using FIFO and put deliveries away safely.
