Job summary

SFE- Southwest Foodservice Excellence in Muskegon, MI is seeking a Food Service Worker to support daily school cafeteria operations. You will help prepare and serve meals in a safe, clean, and friendly environment, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended weeks.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and a willingness to follow recipes, safety standards, and health regulations while delivering a positive dining experience for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Previous food service or cleaning experience preferred.
• Must pass background check and fingerprint screening.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Enjoys working around children and being part of a school community.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food according to recipes, production records, and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen and service area.
• Stock serving lines, salad bars, and milk coolers.
• Follow proper procedures for food storage, rotation, and sanitation.
• Serve meals to students, staff, and visitors in a courteous manner.
• Assist with putting away deliveries and organizing inventory.
• Sweep, mop, and take out trash as needed.
• Follow all local, state, federal, and company health regulations.
• Step in to assist team members or cover shifts as needed.
• Submit reports and meet deadlines as assigned.
• Carry out any additional duties to support the kitchen team and school meal program.
