Job summary

Starting immediately, this full‑time-ish role (65 hours biweekly) requires the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen, follow safety procedures, and communicate effectively with students and staff.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of food prep in large quantities and ability to adjust recipes.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment and utensils safely and efficiently.
• Ability to read simple instructions and write basic notes.
• Ability to establish positive working relationships with staff, students and vendors.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for payments, portions and inventory.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure in a busy school kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves food according to sanitary standards and recipes.
• Measures ingredients and uses correct utensils for preparation and serving.
• Assists with inventory, restocking and daily cleaning of equipment.
• Accepts payment and makes change for students as needed.
• Completes required forms and maintains records for the manager.
• Supports cost containment while maintaining food quality.
