Job summary

Kearsley School District is seeking a part-time school bus driver to transport students safely and reliably, after completing the required training. The role requires a valid Michigan driver's license and the ability to obtain a CDL with P and S endorsements.

Training is paid: $13.73 per hour during up to 30 hours of training; after training, pay ranges from $19.10 to $21.43 per hour. Must pass MDT physical, drug and alcohol screenings, and Live Scan checks; benefits include participation in the

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent.
Valid Michigan driver’s license with a positive driving record; ability to obtain CDL with P and S endorsements.
Pass Michigan DOT physical; cost covered by Kearsley.
Complete Bus Driver Training Program (classroom, behind the wheel, tests).
Meet Michigan Bus Driver Certification requirements.
Live Scan Fingerprint check; drug and alcohol screenings.

Responsibilities

Transport students safely and reliably.
Open and close entrance and emergency doors as needed.
Assist students entering and exiting the bus and ensure safety during boarding/alighting.
Maintain regular attendance and report issues affecting student transport.
Complete required training and certifications for bus operation.
