Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must pass a physical examination required by the State Department of Transportation.
• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds and ascend/descend 3–4 steps to access the bus.
• Must complete the School Bus Monitor Training Program provided by Clayton County Transportation Department.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist driver with transporting students on routes to local or distant points.
• Maintain orderly student conduct and safety on the bus.
• Assist with loading/unloading and operate wheelchair lift as needed.
• Communicate effectively with school staff and the public.
• Attend in-service and enrichment activities offered by CCPS.
