Job summary

The Burlington School District is seeking a School Bus Aide to support safe student transportation and assist the bus driver during routes and stops. The role emphasizes maintaining order, supervising students, and ensuring comfort and safety inside the vehicle.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid State Driver's license.
• Prior bus aide experience is a plus.
• Ability to speak and communicate with bus driver and students.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students getting on and off the bus to ensure safety.
• Daily cleans the interior of the bus and washes windows as needed.
• Supervises the students while riding the bus to ensure their safety.
• Keeps students seated and buckled using provided safety belts.
• Assist the bus driver when needed and back up Special Needs van driver if required.
• Discharges students at authorized stops and transports only authorized students.
• Observes mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintains bus cleanliness.
