Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or state-approved equivalency; college preferred.
• CDL with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements required at time of employment.
• Minimum of three years of successful bus driving experience.
• Ability to pass annual physical.
• Experience with Edulog software or comparable transportation technology.
• Experience in a public school transportation department preferred.
• Ability to plan and coordinate transportation routes.
• Exceptional integrity and strong professional reputation.
• Must be regularly and reliably at work and at the physical worksite.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and recommend economical, efficient, and safest bus routes and stops.
• Periodically ride routes and respond to concerns about routes.
• Monitor bus assignments to balance loads and capacity.
• Maintain records for Edulog Transportation System operations.
• Assist leadership in responding to transportation-related concerns from drivers, parents, and students.
• Prepare route information for drivers at the start of each school year.
• Assist with annual evaluation of bus drivers.
• Serve as substitute bus driver when needed.
• Collaborate with school personnel on student management issues and review bus video footage.
• Observe bus loading/unloading and parking at schools.
• Perform annual driver skill evaluations.
• Assist with State Transportation Survey preparation and retraining of drivers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
