Job summary

Cambridge-Isanti Schools is seeking School Bus Route Drivers for the 2026-2027 year. Drivers will transport students to school sites and events, working split shifts with morning and afternoon routes and paid training to obtain required licenses and endorsements.

Most routes depart around 6:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., averaging about 5 hours per day. A Minnesota CDL with P/S endorsements and DOT/comprehensive checks are required to qualify.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Minnesota license with clean driving record.
• DOT physical exam completed.
• Background check and pre-employment drug & alcohol screen required.

Responsibilities

• Transport students safely to and from school sites and events.
• Operate a school bus safely and follow assigned routes.
• Work split shift: morning and afternoon routes as described.
• Average about 5 hours per day with shifts starting around 6:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

$500 Hiring Incentive - Drivers in Training

To qualify for the $500 hiring incentive, employees must:

• Be a new employee of Cambridge-Isanti Schools.
• Not hold a valid Class B CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements at the time of hire.
• Successfully obtain a Class B CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements through the Cambridge-Isanti Schools training program.
• Be recommended into a regular bus route driver position with Cambridge-Isanti Schools.
• Successfully complete six (6) months of continuous employment in the regular full-time bus driver position.

$500 Hiring Incentive - CDL Licensed Drivers

To qualify for the $500 hiring incentive, employees must:

• Be a new full-time bus driver with Cambridge-Isanti Schools.
• Hold a valid Class B CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements at the time of hire.
• Successfully complete six (6) months of continuous employment in the regular full-time bus driver position.
