Job summary

Nicholas County Board of Education seeks a Bus Operator to support student transportation services on a split-shift schedule (6:00 a.m.–9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.). The role reports to the Director of Transportation and adheres to WV transport regulations.

Responsible for safe vehicle operation, pre/post inspections, maintaining rosters, and ensuring student safety while complying with WV State Board Policy 4336 and NCBOE rules; CDL with passenger endorsement required.

Qualifications

• West Virginia School Transportation Regulations must be followed.
• Ability to perform duties as outlined in the Job Description.

Responsibilities

• Operate school buses and transportation vehicles safely.
• Perform pre/post inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Maintain accurate morning and evening route schedules and student rosters.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, school officials, and supervisors.
• Assist students with disabilities and ensure their safety on board.
