Job summary

Dean Transportation is seeking School Bus Driver positions supporting Lakeville Community Schools in Otisville, MI. You will safely transport students to and from school and events, following designated routes and safety procedures.

Earn up to $22.00 per hour, with flexible scheduling and paid training that includes CDL preparation. Benefits packages are available to eligible employees, and a 401(k) is available after one year of service.

Qualifications

• Meet general qualifications for employment.
• Meet company and state driving record check standards.
• Meet criminal history check requirements.
• Meet Federal DOT guidelines and physical examination requirements.
• Pass drug and alcohol screening as established by company.
• Complete Dean Transportation Driver Training Program (classroom, behind-the-wheel, tests).
• Meet Michigan School Bus Driver Certification Requirements (instruction hours, knowledge test).
• Meet local/state standards for driving skills tests.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle.
• Use established routes and designated bus stops.
• Conduct emergency evacuation drills as required.
• Instruct passenger riders regarding safety.
• Drive defensively under varied traffic and weather conditions.
• Prioritize passenger safety in all operations.
• Build positive relationships with drivers, staff, and students.
• Attend training sessions and in-service programs as scheduled.
