Job summary

Community Unit School District 308 seeks qualified candidates for the role of School Bus Monitors across Oswego Township, IL. Work hours will be varied to support student safety and transportation operations.

Responsibilities include assisting bus drivers, supervising students, and promoting a safe, respectful environment. Benefits include life/AD&D insurance, long term disability, EAP, and multiple medical plans; PTO accrual and paid holidays are provided.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age (or older) with high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug, alcohol, background and TB testing.

• Assist bus driver with the safety, movement, management and care of students.
• Learn and adapt to each student's medical, physical, communicative and emotional needs.
• Serve as a role model demonstrating positive attitude and self-control.
• Protect the confidentiality of student records and information.
• Responsible to secure students who use child safety restraint systems.

Job description

Community Unit School District 308 (SD308) is seeking qualified candidates to become School Bus Monitors for the district.

Work hours

Work hours will be varied.

Compensation

• 16.00 p/h
• Monthly attendance Bonus
• Longevity Bonus
• Please note that the hourly rate of pay is inclusive of the mandatory 4.5% retirement contribution to the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).

Qualifications

• 21 years of age (or older) with high school diploma or equivalent.
• In a timely manner, handle emergency situations, evaluations and administer first aid.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug, alcohol, background and TB testing.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn safety.
