SOUTHLAND Transportation Ltd. is seeking dedicated School Bus Monitors in West Virginia to assist the bus driver with children with special needs. This role involves supervising children during their bus trips, ensuring their safety, and providing assistance as needed. The position is part-time, Monday through Friday, with hours between 6:00 am and 9:00 am and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Candidates should possess effective communication skills, patience, and may require a vulnerable sector check.

Job Description

SOUTHLAND Transportation is seeking dedicated School Bus Monitors to join our team! School Bus Monitors assist the bus driver during the trip to and from school each day by supervising the activity of, and caring for, children with varying special needs. This may include loading, securing, and unloading children in wheelchairs.

This position is Monday through Friday; routes fall between the hours of 6:00 am – 9:00 am and 2:00pm –5:00 pm.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively
• Patience in dealing with student disruptions
• Physical ability to load, secure, and unload children in wheelchairs and car seats (training provided)
• Experience in childcare considered an asset
• Clear Criminal Record
• Vulnerable sector check, upon hire (reimbursed by SOUTHLAND)
