Job summary

Fairview Park City Schools seeks a Substitute Mechanic to assist the Head Mechanic on an as-needed basis. The position supports the Transportation Department and helps maintain district vehicles.

Candidates should have a CDL Class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsements or ability to obtain, ASE certification preferred, and at least five years' experience with diesel/heavy-duty equipment. Pay is $30.66 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of vehicle maintenance experience.
• Experience with school buses, diesel vehicles or heavy-duty equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, brake and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using modern diagnostic tools.
• Experience maintaining vehicle maintenance records and service schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Mechanic on an as-needed basis.
• Manage shop operations including parts ordering and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and state inspections.
