School Bus Drivers (1-2 regular route drivers + substitutes)

Aitkin Public Schools is seeking reliable and dedicated persons to join our school bus family. We have positions for regular route drivers, substitute drivers, and/or extra-curricular drivers. School bus driving is a great opportunity for retirees, farmers, or stay-at-home parents who don’t want the restrictions of a full-time job. Route times are roughly 6:00am-8:30am and 2:30pm-5:00pm, with opportunities for mid-day and weekend activities. Extra-curricular times depend on the activity, but are scheduled with your availability in mind. Pay starts at $23.33 for routes and $18.74 for extra-curricular trips.

Primary Duties Include

• The safe operation and transportation of students by adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Maintaining a safe and clean workplace by conducting Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections and reporting maintenance needs.
• Managing student behavior to ensure a respectful and safe environment for all passengers.

Requirements

• Minimum Class B driver’s license with both the School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements (training available).
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug test, and background check.
• Clean driving record.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, and twist as needed.
