The role is part-time, 188-day contract, with CDL training provided and a focus on safety, student assistance, and compliance with regulations.

The position reports to the Transportation Supervisor and supports safe, timely transportation to school activities.

Qualifications

• CDL with school bus endorsement or ability to obtain.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Ability to manage and communicate with children.
• Training provided for certification.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus and transport students on designated routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
• Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations regarding student behavior on the bus.
• Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus, providing support to those with special needs.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel, addressing questions or concerns as necessary.
• Complete required paperwork, including daily logs, incident reports, and maintenance reports.
• Participate in ongoing training programs to stay current with safety regulations and procedures.
• Follow all state and federal transportation laws and guidelines.
