• Enforce safety rules and regulations regarding student behavior on the bus.
• Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus, providing support to those with special needs.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel, addressing questions or concerns as necessary.
• Complete required paperwork, including daily logs, incident reports, and maintenance reports.
• Participate in ongoing training programs to stay current with safety regulations and procedures.
• Follow all state and federal transportation laws and guidelines.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

• Liberty Local Schools is seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and timely transport of students to and from school and related activities while adhering to all safety regulations and operational policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The Liberty Local School District provides free training for certification for this position.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement or ability to obtain.
• Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Ability to manage and communicate effectively with children.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
• Previous experience in a school transportation setting is preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
• Capability to assist students as needed, including lifting and securing wheelchairs or mobility devices.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• This position may require occasional evening and weekend school events and activities commitments.
• The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.
