Job summary

Holcomb Bus is hiring a part-time school bus driver in New Jersey with CDL training provided. The role offers 20 hours weekly minimum during school operation, with morning and afternoon shift blocks and a sign-on incentive.

Compensation starts at $25–$28 per hour depending on location, with paid training while obtaining the CDL. Applicants must have a valid NJ driver license, be 21 or older, and pass a background check and a DOT drug screen.

Qualifications

• Valid NJ driver license in good standing for the last 3 years.
• Able to read, understand and communicate in English for student safety.
• Pass a background check from age 18 onward and a DOT drug test.

Responsibilities

• Guaranteed 20 hours per week as long as the school is open, with split shifts 6:00–9:30 and 13:00–17:00.
• Operate school routes with safety and communication to proper personnel as needed.

Job description

Earn your Commercial Drivers License and become a school bus driver for Holcomb Bus! We offer classroom and behind the wheel training and will pay for all costs/materials related to attaining your CDL.

$25/$26 per hr ( Atlantic County) $28.00 per hr (All other locations) , once you start driving + sign on bonus! We will pay you minimum wage during your behind the wheel training and take you to your driving test.

Qualifications

• Valid NJ driver license/must be in good standing for the last 3 years.
• At least 21 years old or older.
• Must be able to read, understand and communicate in English, to respond appropriately to students needs during route and notify proper personnel of emergency and safety issues
• Must be able to pass a background check from 18 yrs. old until now.
• Must be able to pass a DOT drug test (marijuana is legal in NJ, but not legal for a CDL).
• Guaranteed 20 hours a week as long as the school is open/Monday-Friday schedule
• Required to work 2 hours in the morning. The 2 hours will be scheduled between the hours of 6 AM-9:30 AM.
• Required to work 2 hours in the afternoon. The 2 hours will be scheduled between the hours of 1:00 PM-5 PM.
