Job summary

Zum Services, Inc. in Nashville, TN is seeking a Driver Trainer to join our team. The successful candidate will train new and existing bus drivers, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and maintaining a safe transportation environment for students.

Responsibilities include classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction, ongoing evaluations, managing drug/alcohol testing programs, safety meetings, on-scene incident reporting, and driving on designated routes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years driving experience in a passenger vehicle (WAC 392-144-101).
• Possess all valid state licenses and certifications to operate company vehicles (state dependent).
• Possess all valid state licenses and certifications to train and evaluate school bus drivers (state dependent).
• Thorough knowledge of state and federal student transportation regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.

Responsibilities

• Proactively recruit individuals to apply and train them to become School Bus Drivers.
• Provide classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training to ensure successful completion of training and testing; recommend upgrades as necessary.
• Provide ongoing training and performance evaluations for all driver employees.
• Administer and maintain random drug/alcohol testing programs with the corporate office.
• Develop and conduct regularly scheduled driver safety meetings.
• Respond to personal injury and vehicle accidents with on-scene investigations and reporting as per policy.
• Investigate customer service safety concerns and take corrective action.
• Drive a school bus on designated routes.
