Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a school bus driver.
• CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Illinois SBP permit for the division required.
• ISBE SBDI certification required.
• Thorough knowledge of state/federal student transportation regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
• Preferred First Aid/CPR certification; insurance benefits offered.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus on designated routes.
• Recruit individuals to apply and train them to become School Bus Drivers.
• Provide classroom instruction and behind the wheel training; supervise testing and upgrades.
• Provide ongoing training and performance evaluations for drivers.
• Administer drug/alcohol testing programs with the corporate office.
• Develop regular driver safety meetings.
• Investigate incidents and respond to accidents with on-scene reports.
