Job summary

First Bus in Taunton seeks qualified and trainee bus drivers to transport school children on a dedicated rota. You will drive pupils to school in the morning and back in the afternoon, working 30 hours per week across 41 weeks.

Overtime may be available, with pay £13–£14 per hour for PCV licence holders and £12–£12.50 for trainees. The role requires a driving licence (≤6 points) and a DBS check; training is offered for the right candidate to move onto the school bus rota.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Ideally 2+ years of bus driving or similar customer-facing transport experience.
• DBS enhanced disclosure required; training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Transport school children to and from their schools on a set rota.
• Ensure safety and provide reliable, punctual service.
• Report to depot staff manager and maintain good customer service.
