Job summary

Mountain Empire Unified School District Transportation in Pine Valley, California, is seeking a dedicated Bus Driver to operate a school bus on a daily route, with a base 6.0 hours per day over 9.5 months.

You will transport students and staff, enforce district policies, complete mileage and time reports, assist with route sheets, maintain bus cleanliness, and perform minor maintenance as needed. This is a full-time position with local scheduling aligned to the school calendar.

Responsibilities

• Drives a school bus or assigned vehicle over an assigned daily route in accordance with time schedule
• Boards and discharges student passengers
• Transports students, staff and chaperons on field trips, athletic activities, and other special trips
• Enforces District policies and procedures and maintains discipline on buses
• Prepares daily reports of mileage, time and student loads
• Assists the development and revision of route sheets in coordination with the director
• Maintains bus cleanliness on a daily basis
• Performs minor bus maintenance, checks and reports maintenance needs
• Adds oil, fuel and other fluids
• Renders first aid or emergency assistance as needed
• Other duties as assigned
