Job summary

Liberty County Schools Transportation Department in Hinesville, Georgia seeks a 2026-27 SY Bus Driver- FT to provide safe, professional, timely, and efficient bus transportation for students. Immediate starting date and a DOE/DOT-compliant process are required.

Responsibilities include punctual attendance, positive interactions with staff and students, adherence to safety regulations, and maintaining bus cleanliness. CDL with P & S endorsements and drug testing compliance are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s license to drive a school bus (P and S endorsements required).
• Meet DOE physical exam and health requirements.
• Complete all DOE, DOT, and local school system requirements.
• Ability to pass an initial drug test as well as future random drug/alcohol tests.
• Minimum age of 21.

Responsibilities

• Prompt and regular attendance.
• Interacts positively with staff, students, parents, and the community.
• Maintains confidentiality and professionalism regarding student and school system affairs.
• Obeys all traffic laws.
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
• Reports undisciplined students to the school administration and takes appropriate disciplinary action.
• Keeps assigned bus clean.
