Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Meets DOT and Michigan requirements; valid driver’s license with endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates a school bus on designated routes and field trips.
• Supervises loading/unloading, ensures seat belt usage, and releases students to authorized individuals.
• Maintains order and discipline, documents incidents, and conducts accident investigations as needed.
• Ensures bus is clean and mechanically sound, reports issues, and performs routine maintenance as required.
• Collaborates with parents, supervisors, and staff to optimize drop-off and pickup schedules and adjust routes as necessary.
• Follows routing schedules and reviews bus stop locations for safety and efficiency.
• Monitors students with health needs to ensure wellbeing during rides.
• Maintains records on mileage, routing, maintenance, and schedules.
