Job summary

Classical Charter Schools of Leland seeks a School Bus Driver to provide safe, on-time transportation for students on a fixed route and schedule, including activities. The position is non-exempt and hourly.

Qualified candidates will hold a NC CDL endorsement and a valid NC driver’s license, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and demonstrate clear communication with staff, students and parents. Responsibilities include safety, discipline support, and routine bus maintenance checks.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• CDL endorsement required.
• Valid NC driver’s license.
• Clear and concise oral and written communication.
• Ability to read a map.
• Strong interpersonal skills with children, staff and parents.
• Good problem-solving and reasoning abilities.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Follow all rules and procedures of Classical Charter Schools (Leland) and DOT regulations.
• Ensure safe, on-time student transportation per schedule.
• Discipline students with bus monitor as needed.
• Report undisciplined students and incidents to authorities.
• Keep bus clean and conduct pre/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with Office Manager and Headmaster for operations.
