Qualifications

• Must hold valid Alabama CDL and a school bus license.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must meet all local, state, and federal licensing requirements for school buses and vehicles.
• Must pass drug tests as required by laws and board policies.
• Must pass physical qualifications.
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
• Must meet suitability criteria under Alabama law and board policies.
• Other acceptable alternatives as determined by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Operate the school bus to transport students on scheduled routes and field trips.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations; maintain discipline on the bus.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Ensure safety of students during loading, transit, and unloading.
• Report accidents and incidents immediately to the Transportation Office.
