Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• Valid California CDL (Class A or B) with Passenger (P) endorsement, School Bus (S) certificate and Air brake endorsement.
• Valid California School Bus Driver Special Certificate issued by CHP.
• DL-51 medical exam and ability to pass required physicals.
• First Aid Certification from a recognized agency.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and DOT drug/alcohol testing.
• DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits Schedule I drugs, including marijuana.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus along designated routes and manage loading/unloading on schedule.
• Escort students safely across streets as needed.
• Maintain order and discipline per school policies.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues promptly.
• Keep accurate records, logs, mileage, and reports.
