Job summary

Harold Winkler Middle School in Concord, NC is seeking a full-time bus driver to transport students to and from school and activities under the supervision of the Transportation Planner. Valid CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, a clean driving record, and FMCSA compliance are required.

Candidates should be at least 18 years old, have a High School diploma or GED, and at least 1 year of driving experience.

Qualifications

• High School or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of driving experience as a licensed operator of a motor vehicle, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Pre- and post-trip school bus inspections and reporting deficiencies.
• Transport students to and from school and to activities/events.
• Clean bus inside and out and perform routine maintenance tasks like washing and trash removal.
• Obey traffic laws and safety regulations for school bus operations.
• Ensure passenger safety and maintain discipline on the bus; complete disciplinary forms as needed.
• Conduct emergency evacuation drills as required.
• Record mileage and maintain related records.
