Harold Winkler Middle in Concord, North Carolina is seeking a Lead Bus Driver to manage bus routes, coordinate coverage with the Transportation Planner, and mentor substitute drivers. The role requires a NC CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsement and at least 1 year of NC school bus driving experience.

Responsibilities include supervising routes, ensuring timely coverage, and assisting in safety training and documentation.

• Drives any route as needed and coordinates bus coverage with the Transportation Planner.
• Monitors AM/PM runs and ensures routes are covered; reports tardiness or no-shows.
• Trains substitute drivers on routes and required documents; conducts retraining as needed.
• Maintains bus routes files, seating charts and related documents upon request.
• Assists in bus safety training and may mentor substitute drivers.
• Oversees pre- and post-trip inspections and bus cleanliness.
• Notifies Planner of route non-compliance and follows up to ensure adherence.
