Qualifications

• Graduation from high school.
• Valid California Class A or B commercial driver's license with passenger and air brake endorsements.
• Valid unrestricted California Special Driver Certificate for school bus operation or transit school bus with automatic transmission.
• Current California Highway Patrol approved First Aid Certificate.
• Must be insurable under the District's vehicle driver's insurance policy at the standard rate.
• Clean driving record at time of employment; DMV printout required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain school buses to transport students safely and efficiently.
• Perform regular safety inspections and maintenance checks.
• Prepare and maintain related logs and reports.
• Adhere to designated routes, schedules, and traffic laws.
• Assist handicapped students to board, sit, and depart safely.
• Maintain bus cleanliness and basic preventive maintenance.
