Job summary

Gasconade County R-1 Central Office - Hermann, Missouri is seeking a Bus/Transportation Driver to operate daily morning and afternoon routes, ensuring safe student transportation and positive interactions with families and staff. The driver will perform pre-trip inspections, maintain the bus’s appearance, and follow all safety rules.

Ideal candidates will have an active CDL license; prior school bus experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active CDL license.
• Prior school bus driving experience is preferred but not required.
• Must demonstrate a strong commitment to student safety.
• Must have a genuine caring attitude toward children.
• Must be dependable, responsible, and able to work independently.
• Must demonstrate professional interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus while supervising students
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment for students
• Work effectively with minimal supervision
• Complete daily pre-trip inspections
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the bus, both inside and outside
• Make decisions that prioritize the safety and well-being of students
• Communicate and interact professionally with parents, students, and school staff
• Complete monthly reports and other administrative duties as needed
• Follow all applicable district, state, and transportation safety requirements
