Job summary

The Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District is seeking a School Bus Driver to operate a bus or minivan on assigned routes, transporting students to and from school and district events. The driver is responsible for student safety during entry, transit, and on board, and may work with a School Bus Attendant when present.

You will check the vehicle before trips, file reports on incidents, and may perform basic maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• There are no formal minimum qualifications.
• Valid NY CDL Class B with P and S endorsements required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Operates a school bus or minivan on assigned routes for transporting students to and from school classes and special activities as established by the district.
• Checks the vehicle before a run to insure its proper operation.
• Makes reports of any unusual occurrences that occur during a trip, e.g. such as student behavior problems and operation malfunctions with the vehicle.
• May be required to fill the gas tank, check oil and battery before taking the bus on the run.
• May be required to perform related work such as replacing tires, putting on chains, hosing off vehicle etc.
