Job summary

Rankin County School District is seeking a Bus Driver to provide safe, courteous transportation for elementary, middle, and high school students on daily routes, assist with boarding and exiting, and follow safety procedures in drills or emergencies. Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Know, recognize and obey road signs and signals.
• Exercise defensive driving skills at all times while operating the school bus.
• Conduct a thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the school bus.
• Maintain routes and schedules as planned by the local school board.
• Remain alert to hazards and road conditions.
• Report hazards and incidents to appropriate school officials.
• Maintain interior cleanliness and enforce no eating/drinking policy on bus.
• Transport only authorized students and monitor discipline.
• Participate in safety training and drills.
• Read, understand, and abide by district policies and procedures.
