Qualifications

• Follow safety procedures for vehicle operation.
• Record operational details of travel.

• Must pass Transportation Course required by Bright from the Start.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules as students board and exit buses.
• Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles safely and courteously.
• Check vehicle tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment.
• Maintain order among pupils during trips to ensure safety.
• Pick up and drop off students at schools following schedules.
• Report bus malfunctions or needed repairs.
• Drive and transport students between schools and activities.
• Prepare reports on passengers, trips, hours, mileage, fuel, or fares.
• Keep bus interiors clean and ready for passengers.
• Read maps and follow directions.
• Report delays or accidents using 2-way radios.
• Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation for passenger comfort.
