Job summary

Pullman School District 267 Transportation Department is seeking a Regular Route Bus Driver to safely operate a school bus on a variety of routes and trips, including field and extracurricular activities.

The role requires CDL-B with endorsements, First Aid/CPR, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. Training, safety responsibilities, and adherence to district policies are essential, with compensation reflecting trainee to regular route distinctions.

Qualifications

• Be 21 years old or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Have a minimum of three years driving experience.
• Possess or be able to obtain a valid state driver’s license with endorsements (CDL-B with air restriction removed; passenger endorsement and “S” endorsement). Reimbursement for CDL.
• Meet the physical and mental standards per the Department of Licensing for school bus driver duties.
• Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a current First Aid/CPR card.
• Pass drug and alcohol test as required by the district and federal requirements.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Sufficient English language proficiency for communication with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete required bus driver training and evaluation.
• Operate a school bus on scheduled routes and trips in support of district activities.
• Handle all bus controls per Washington state specifications.
• Maintain and service bus equipment and related safety gear.
• Inspect and service bus and equipment daily and complete required forms.
